The 2014 Annual Conference, “History in the Making: Pivotal Moments in Public Understanding” is coming up in March. See our Call for Proposals to submit a presentation proposal before January 15th!
The GHA would like to thank everyone who attended the Competing Visions conference on Saturday March 9th, and extend a particular thanks our presenters who traveled from near and far to join us! Another big thanks goes to those of you who took some time out of the day to help us make the conference a success: to our volunteers, to the wonderful professors who graciously agreed to chair our panels, and to Dr. Joseph Ellis for delivering a fantastic keynote presentation. We were thoroughly pleased with the turnout, the scholarship, and the community at the conference and thank you all for making it possible!
Conference preparations are in full swing! The Papers Committee is hard at work finalizing their selections and will shortly be replying to those who submitted proposals with their decision. [EDIT 2/5: E-mails will go out by Feb. 9th/10th. ]
On another note, we would also like to remind everybody that our Book and Bake Sale for the spring semester is coming up next week, February 6-7 (Wednesday and Thursday) in the Herter lobby. We will have lots of good books and yummy snacks for sale so please stop by! Our proceeds will go towards making the conference as nice as we possibly can!
Check back later for more conference information- we hope to see you there!
Additionally, elections are coming up. Talk to a current officer to learn more about being Co-chair, Secretary, Treasurer, or GSS rep for next year. Nominations (you may nominate yourself) should go to firstname.lastname@example.org.
